Job Description:
Qualifications:
  • Must be self-motivated and have a positive attitude toward the cooperative.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good math skills.
  • Must be extremely reliable and dependable.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Must have a CDL.
  • Must be certified in CPR & First Aid.
  • Must be willing to continue education and training.
  • Prior line work experience a strong plus.
  • Completed EPD program
Duties: Assist Journey Level Line worker in:
  • Handle disconnects, connects and reconnects
  • Install, remove and maintain dusk to dawn lights
  • Install, remove and maintain meter (1Φ and 3 Φ) and AMI systems
  • Read meters
  • Investigate member issues, including: complaints, collections and outages
  • Assist in maintaining mapping system
  • Install and maintain surge protections equipment
  • Promote co-op products and services
  • Perform line and pole inspections
  • Assist with PCB program
  • Operate and maintain tree trimming equipment
  • Assist with stray voltage and power quality issues
  • Assist in the compliance with co-op safety manual and NESC and NEC
  • Assist other cooperative crews as directed
  • Must be able to handle any other duties as assigned
  • Participate in the after-hours call-out schedule as well as being available for emergency after-hours work
  • Perform hotline gloving
Working Conditions:
  • Position will typically work with other cooperative employees
  • Strict adherence to all applicable safety rules due to nature of position
  • Various weather conditions
  • Travel as required
  • Handling of heavy and hazardous equipment and materials
Rate of pay is in accordance with the union contract.
