DescriptionEssential Job Functions:
- Ensure compliance with local, city, state and national electrical codes
- Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Gathers appropriate material for daily tasks
- Installs and repairs faulty equipment, wiring or control devices
- Mounts panel boards, transformers, switch gears, transfer switches, and other various types of equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance on variable frequency drives, motors, pumps, generators, etc.
- Provides power and controls to motors, HVAC, and other equipment
- Troubleshoots and repairs all systems
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid N.D. Electrical license, or, must have reciprocity in North Dakota (must submit with application)
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle.
- Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: •Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, operational and mechanical systems including; installation, test, maintenance and repair.•Knowledge and experience use of power tools, testing equipment, test lamps, measuring devices, power construction equipment.•Knowledge of proper electrical equipment use conducive to conditions and assignments including adherence to Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations•Understands how the electrical system operates under normal and emergency conditions•Skills in repairing/fixing electrical equipment, wiring, hand or power tools and other fixtures. •Ability to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams•Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies such as high voltage systems, electrical fires, loose hot wires, broken power lines and etc.•Ability to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown and correct the problem or recommend solution•Ability to set and balance priorities in order to complete projects on time•Ability to make decisions and recommend appropriate course of action in difficult situations•Ability to communicate effectively as a supervisor both verbal and written•Ability to handle stress and possess positive trait even in difficult or challenging situations•Ability to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by departmentPhysical Demand/Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by the applicant/employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
