What you will do:
  • Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Complies with all the standards that are followed in the TC Menasha plant, including, but not limited to - Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Continuous Improvement (CI) and any other processes established within the TC Menasha plant.
  • Follows procedures for proper handling, labeling, storage, and use of various types of products within the plant or on company property.
  • Participation and involvement in associated committees or activities
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to help achieve plant goals and targets
  • Take action on unsafe situations
  • Troubleshoot on designated industrial equipment, PLC, Drive, control systems and department machine centers
  • Use the CMMS system for managing work orders and backlog/documentation, ensure compliance to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure effective employee relations, including leading by example
  • Ensures best practices are communicated and followed up on
  • Provide training, direction and mentorship to apprentices and peers for performance and process improvement initiatives
  • Able to interpret and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Attend meetings such as work order back log, vendor/contractor opening and closing meetings
  • Required monitoring on facilities AMU/HVAC/OXIDIZER systems.
  • Review inventory and request resources (parts, tools, etc) for daily operations and projects
Expectations:
  • Maintain a work environment suitable for food packaging. This includes SQF requirements and documentation.
  • Maintaining acceptable levels of reground rolls for extrusion and other roll using departments.
  • Maintaining floor and machine cleanliness in the maintenance areas.
  • Be proactive in resolving quality of our parts and repairs.
  • Suggest ideas to improve the quality of our equipment and processes.
  • Quantify the accuracy and repeatability of machining work done by self and others.
  • Maintaining acceptable productivity to execute repairs and improvement projects for the plant equipment.
  • Initiates repairs on machine components requiring reconditioning or modifications.
  • Advises and executes electrical work as assigned.
  • Specifies and orders electrical supplies and materials for work.
  • Perform periodic checks and inspections on plant equipment.
  • Assure proper orientation to all new or transferred employees as required.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with changing shifts to ensure limited disruption of maintenance activity.
  • Complete the required equipment inspections assuring safe and reliable operation of machining equipment.
  • Complete daily timesheets with detailed information of work performed
  • Other tasks as assigned
Working Conditions:
  • This job operates in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be willing to work a continuous operations schedule. Work schedule will be a combination of 8-hour days and/or 12-hour COS rotation. Yearly assigned 8 or 12 hour schedule is based on seniority and shift preference.
  • Overtime and covering of partner vacations, plant shutdowns, Holidays and other vacancies will be required.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Physical demands include walking/standing/reaching, bending for extended periods of time.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas verbally and in writing and perceiving the nature of sounds by the ear.
  • Physical strengths include lifting a maximum of 50 pounds, or 100 pounds - 2 man lift.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less and be free of colorblindness.
  • Ability to work in areas with the following conditions: hazards such as dust, high noise levels, solvent fumes common in the printing industry and high heat.
