DescriptionJob Title: Jr. Accountant Department: Accounting Reports to: Sr. Accountant FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary The Junior Accountant will assist in managing the day-to-day accounting and financial tasks. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Processing invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Engage in balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of accounts.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Assisting with closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and assisting with internal and external audits.
- Supporting the preparation and filing of tax documents and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Providing assistance to senior accountants and other finance team members as needed.
- May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Proficient computer and Microsoft office skills.

- Knowledge of GAAP principles and their application in accounting practices.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with payroll processes and regulations.
- Experience or coursework in accrual accounting concepts.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation effectively and efficiently.
- Technical accounting skills to address complex financial issues as they arise.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to work in the office Monday - Friday.
- This position must pass a post offer background and drug test.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in accounting or finance from four-year college or university.
- Minimum of five years related experience and/or training in an accounting office preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
