Job Type Full-time, ContractDescriptionWe are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team to provide services in support of our Hines, IL CMOP (Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy). The CMOP supports all fifty states, Washington D. C., Puerto Rico, and US Territories and processes over 130 million prescriptions per year and individual CMOP's mail out approximately 515,000 prescriptions per day, with approximately 330,000 Veteran patients served per day. The CMOP utilizes a combination of automated and manual procedures to prepare and dispense Over the Counter (OTC) and legend drug prescriptions, controlled substance prescriptions, bulk type prescriptions, and medical/surgical products directly by mail to patients. The nature of services includes the operation and support of automated and manual filling equipment, and the preparation of prescription orders for mail-out dispensing.. The ideal candidate will serve as a team lead or senior team member, working in concert to provide professional accounting and financial management services to Federal, State & Local, and other Government clients.Responsibilities
- Possess a general understanding of the U.S. Standard General Ledger, Federal financial statements, and Federal budget execution.
- Be able to function as a subject matter expert to efficiently reconcile and remedy fiscal discrepancies.
- Under minimal supervision, be able to assess products and procedures for compliance with government standards and financial management regulations.

- BA/BS - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is REQUIRED.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices, with a focus on financial acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
