Jr Meeting Planner
- $28.00 per hour / Long Term Contract / Possible Temp to Hire
- Remote, but they need to be local to DC and will need to go into the office from time to time.
Job Summary:
The Contractor Planner / Sourcer is the liaison between the Corporate Meetings Committee and Vendors / Hotels / Convention Centers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manages meeting logistics and on site operations of assigned projects. Committee meeting coordination of rooming list, menu development and banquet event orders, on-site management, budget reporting and post conference expenses and payment.
- Source meeting space from Hotels and Convention sites for off site Hearings.
- Wide based knowledge of Cvent (vendor supplier sourcing, registration, reporting, budgeting).
- Ability to negotiate contracts and knowledge of hospitality legal terms.
- Create food and beverage plans for committee meetings.
Other Responsibilities:
- Invoice Reconciliation and forecasting reports to finance
- Meetings (American Express) Card Reconciliation
- Creating PSA and Task Orders
- Web-casting and Multi Casting
- In depth knowledge of caterers and conference centers
- In depth knowledge of audio visual equipment
Education/Experience Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in meeting management or hospitality experience. CMP preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge in contract negotiations and background on registration systems a plus.
- Independent to work onsite at conferences.
- Proficiency using a PC with Microsoft Suite
- Some travel may be required to DC, Rockville, MD and New York City Officdes
- Knowledge of CVENT databases.
- The ability to implement projects independently and work with various departments as a team is absolutely necessary.
