Director, Payments Product Management – Denver, CO & Austin, TXAre you passionate about Product Management in FinTech? Western Union powers your pursuit.In this role you will work as a leader of our Global Payments Product team. You will ensure that Western Union has best-in-class payments capabilities, which will enable our customers to both pay how they want as well as receive funds how they want. You will own and set the strategy for multiple product lines and be accountable for execution upon that strategy. You will lead multiple teams of Product Managers and Product Owners to help drive execution upon your vision and strategy.

Role Responsibilities

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for a set of payments capabilities.
  • Work with Western Union senior leadership and cross-functional regional leaders for products and ideas on forward-looking Fintech and money movement products.
  • Work with front-end teams to launch new and enhance existing payments capabilities that will improve our end-to-end customer experience.
  • Be experienced in both upstream product and service definition, and downstream product development and execution.
  • Think strategically and creatively to gather product and process insights from customers and key internal/external stakeholders.
  • Propose solutions that promote organizational key performance indicators and follow up with analytics teams to measure success.
  • Understand product alternatives and work with a multi-disciplined team to understand trade-offs and put value on alternatives. You will define and document product requirements, features, and functionality.
  • Partner closely with engineers, operations, product marketing, sales, customer success, risk, and finance to ensure our clients are at the center of everything we build and that they're delighted by our work.
  • Own and prioritize a roadmap to balance both exploring new product enhancements and existing product optimizations.
  • Manage products through the product development lifecycle ensuring that proper alignment and approvals are obtained from Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Infosec so that development timelines are not jeopardized.
  • Provide ongoing analysis on product effectiveness using a data-driven approach.
  • Coordinate with our global operations and marketing teams to ensure a successful GTM execution.
  • Act as a people leader and build a high-quality and high-performing team.
  • Data-driven product management and ownership of product KPIs and OKRs across the entire customer engagement journey.
  • Build trust and influence across teams, stakeholders, and the global organization.

Role Requirements

  • Previous working experience as a Product Manager 10+ years (Financial Services a plus).
  • Proven track record of leading the development and implementation of successful product strategies with excellent cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with teams in different locations.
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to build trust and negotiate with teams across different seniority levels and functions, including product, design, technology, marketing, compliance, business development, sales, and geographies to build products that delight our global customers.
  • Strong background in building high-performing teams, developing, coaching, and mentoring diverse talent, and being a role model across global cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in building FinTech products for omnichannel customers (retail and digital) preferred.
  • Strong business writing, numerical analysis, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Get things done attitude; self-motivated, with the ability to “roll-up sleeves” and prioritize critical deadlines.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams in different countries with different cultural backgrounds.
  • Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies.
  • Team player with the ability to prioritize workload in line with tight deadlines and under pressure.

SalaryThe on-target earnings range is $211,756 – $282,531 per year, which includes a base salary, short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
