Overview:

4-H After School is a grant funded program designed to help youth enjoy enriching club activities in out of school time. Club leaders instruct groups of youth through various curriculum over the school year.

Responsibilities:

You will be expected to commit to teaching clubs 2 or 4 days a week. If you cannot make it, you must find a substitute for your class. You will create your own lesson plans or used designed curricula. Lesson plans are expected to be prepared in advance and supplies for clubs purchased at least oneweek prior to club event. You will be required to keep an attendance record of youth in your clubs. Additionally, you will attend weekly and monthly meetings and trainings throughout the year. You will be a representative of 4-H in the community and will adhere to the standard code of conduct whichwill be discussed upon hiring and includes: timely club preparation, reliable and punctual attendance at clubs, responsible club management, appropriate dress, appropriate youth, and adult relationships, etc. You may be asked to perform additional work as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must work effectively with youth, families, and school
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Skills related to Sewing, STEM, Cake Decorating, Music, Art and other afterschool subject matter
  • Job offer contingent upon successfully passed background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past experience in the 4-H Program as a youth or volunteer

    Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
