Position Description
The judicial law clerk researches issues of law, attends trials and other court proceedings, drafts opinions, and acts as advisor, to the Honorable Charlene E. Honeywell, U.S. District Judge. The caseload in the jurisdiction is heavy, and the types of cases presented are varied, often involving novel and complex issues of law. While the nature of the matters presented is serious, the office environment is personable. There is daily interaction with the Judge and other court staff concerning legal and court related issues.
Qualification
The applicant must be a law school graduate at the time of appointment and must possess excellent research and writing skills, and computer proficiency, especially in Windows and Word. Bar membership and at least one year of post-graduate litigation or clerkship experience is required. Good character, maturity, willingness to work long hours, and ability to effectively manage busy caseload and deadlines are also required. Experience on the editorial board of law review, moot court, and/or publication of noteworthy articles is preferred but not required.

Starting salary will be commensurate with work experience and prior pay history. Salary may be higher with previous experience as a law clerk to a federal judge.
