The position performs clerical tasks in maintaining and processing court records and materials as well as assisting customers with court-related matters.The starting salary for new State employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. Starting pay for this position is $18.59 hourly / $1,487.20 bi-weekly. Pay adjustments may be made if the successful candidate has relevant education and experience above the minimum requirement.Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.To Apply:Candidates need to complete the NEOGOV application and attach a cover letter and resume. The Iowa Judicial Branch is an EEO/AA and E-Verify employer.Responsibilities:Process electronically filed court documents, assist court users over the phone and at the public counter, and conduct financial transactions.Provide excellent customer service by assisting and communicating with court users in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.Coordinate, communicate and collaborate on work with team members to ensure efficient and accurate case processing of court documents and financial transactions.Occasional travel to neighboring counties, as needed.Minimum Requirements:Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant, or related program.Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work, or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority, additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor's Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.
