TITLE: Judy Center Site Coordinator- SMES ($63,246.12+) QUALIFICATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Valid Maryland Driver's License and reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in program development and management.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working with children birth to six years of age and their families.
  • Experience in effective management of coordinating services and collaborating with multiple agencies/service providers including school and community services in early childhood education preferred.
  • Experience in working with culturally diverse communities and families with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, even when differing in values or behavior norms.
  • Capable of effectively communicating programmatic information about Judy Centers to potential partners, school administrators, staff, community members, and families.
  • Experience with budget development, grant writing, grant monitoring, and management of staff.
  • Technology proficiency, including working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Docs and Applications, and other online tools.
  • REPORTS TO: Early Learning Supervisor JOB GOAL: The Judy Center Site Coordinator position is a highly skilled grant-funded position that emphasizes leadership, planning, organization, and the ability to direct multiple projects concurrently. The Site Coordinator is responsible for the performance and results of the Judy Center center based on the five Component Standards. This work will include project planning, knowledge of early childhood programs and resources, knowledge of budget, procurement, and program design. This position meets the obligations of The Blueprint for Maryland's Future by collaborating with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to develop and implement the five components of a well-defined Judy Center Early Learning Hub. The Judy Center serves children birth through five years of age and their families by providing comprehensive early care and education services to promote continuous improvement toward child development and school readiness. All work should be family-centered and strength-based and directed at establishing a trusting relationship; assisting in strengthening the parent-child relationship; assisting parents in improving their skills to optimize the home environment; improving the family support system; and increasing the family's ability to problem-solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children. The Site Coordinator is also responsible for partnering with community providers, supporting case management, supporting the coordination of services, communicating with families, facilitating the Steering Committee and Parent Advisory Committee, and maintaining documentation and data for evaluation purposes. ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Manage all MSDE grant requirements, including budget creation and reconciliation, grant writing, monitoring, staff management, maintaining documentation supporting the five Component Standards, attend required meetings and trainings, prepare contracts with vendors and partners, frequent surveying of families and partners, and manage the procurement and upkeep of Judy Center program materials, supplies, and equipment.
    • Maintain and oversee the yearly performance measures/goals and database of all services provided, attendance at events/programming, case management needs, coordinated services referrals, and current contact list of all community partners and their resources provided.
    • Provide ongoing oversight and supervision of all Judy Center programming and staff and complete annual end-of-year evaluations by June 15.
    • Develop strategies for increasing program visibility and expansion, including community outreach, recruiting families, and new family service partners.
    • Serve as a leader and spokesperson in advocating for the needs of Judy Center families by serving on The Local Early Childhood Advisory Council and other local community-based committees to continuously articulate the goals and objectives of the Judy Center to parents, families, the school community, and the greater community at large.
    • Regularly coordinate, attend, and participate in scheduled meetings with community partners; monthly service coordination meetings.
    • Remain current with the latest evidence-based research and resources to support staff and partners in delivering high-quality services and aligning with best practices in early childhood education.
    • Provision of evidence-based home visiting to perform early learning screenings and develop family-driven case management goals.
    • Collaborate with TCPS Early Learning Supervisor, school administration, early childhood educators, special educators, and other school staff to align services with school readiness goals.
    • Organize, manage, and lead the Steering Committee and the Parent Advisory Committee by finalizing and communicating meeting logistics, preparing meeting agendas/handouts, and distributing monthly meeting minutes.
    • Coordinate with the Family Service Coordinator and other staff to:
      • Prepare and deliver professional learning to public and private early childhood educators.
      • Prepare and deliver parent training workshops, and parent-child activities/playgroups that align with readiness expectations.
      • Review case management and discuss the progress/status of current caseloads.
    • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and families.
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Non-exempt position. Twelve-month work year. Salary to be established by the Board. Grant-funded position to be font-size: 10pt >renewed annually, if funding is available. S25 Range 9
