About Our ClientWell known non profit organization with a fantastic mission, based in the heart of Manhattan. This role will be based in office on a hybrid schedule (3 days/week), and has the potential to be converted permanent within 6 months.
Job DescriptionThe role will involve:
- Support the accounting team with day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting the accounts payable function.
- Support in preparing invoices for payment by obtaining approvals, matching purchase order numbers, and researching for possible duplicate payments
- Support all other accounts payable functions such as entering invoices and check requisitions, proofs for accuracy, proper account coding, running processes, and printing checks.
- Assist outside Auditors with all required schedules, year-end audit requests, and auditor's questions.
- Support in preparation, review, and filing of 1099.
- Support in preparing and maintaining accounting schedules such as accounts payable accruals, prepaid expenses, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining and filing accounts payable documents.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department the general ledger

The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will have:- Minimum 2 years relevant experience- Prior experience working in the non profit space preferred- Team player with strong communication skills- Knowledge of FinancialEdge is beneficial but not essential
