Junior Budget Analyst
**POSITION DETAILS**
CUNYs Office of Budget and Finance provides strategic, responsible, and effective leadership and management of the Universitys financial and budgetary resources. The Offices goals include, among others, ensuring that relevant, accurate, and timely information is provided to key decision makers along with maintaining financial management policies and procedures that ensure prudent use of CUNY resources. Within the Office of Budget and Finance, the Budget and Planning Operations department manages the budget for 25 colleges, professional schools, and administrative campuses across the five boroughs of New York City.
The Budget and Planning Operations department is looking for a Junior Budget Analyst who will be responsible for ensuring that University budgets are accurately reflected in CUNY, City, and State financial systems. The incumbent will also monitor University expenditures and provide customer service for budget-related inquiries.
Reporting to the Finance Budget Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Work as part of the budget team to implement budgetary and administrative initiatives, policies, and programs; manage and track fund allocations.
+ Maintain data on budget, expenses, and other indicators from various systems and monitor balances and expenditures on a regular basis; review transactions and assist in preparing budgetary reports.
+ Provide guidance and technical assistance to university units on budget matters; maintain and manage billing activity.

Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred:
+ Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related discipline
+ Experience in budget preparation, financial analysis, and working with data
+ Familiarity with web-based financial and data systems
+ Proficiency in Excel, creating formulas, tables, graphs, charts and preparing data for analysis
+ Strong communication and organizational skills
+ Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and work collaboratively with diverse staff members in various levels
+ Computer proficiency using administrative systems and databases, plus Microsoft Office 365 programs, and remote/virtual meeting/conferencing and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx, Skype)

- Collects and reports fiscal information as required, and assists in analyzing financial information

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
The salary range is **$54,268 - $65,946** , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.
