Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:The GIS Analyst is a professional with 3-5 years of experience. This individual will work on a variety of Cartography projects and will work under the direct supervision of an experienced professional. Ideal candidate will be well-organized and detail-oriented with strong abilities in problem solving as well as oral and written communication. Ideal candidate will have both breadth and depth of knowledge sufficient to allow him/her to be a self-starter requiring very little detailed directions, once trained in our applications. Ideal candidate will also be able to quickly adapt to a fast-paced and changing environmentPRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Preparation of environmental inventory maps, site plans, permit support graphics, report graphics, and plats
  • Preparation of customized maps in a timely and effective manner
  • GIS Database implementation and maintenance
  • Linking datasets, data entry and processing
  • Interaction with clients to secure and transmit digital information
  • Participation in team and independent based work
  • Check discipline-related drawings and documents
  • Ensure drawings are in accordance with project scope, client specifications and standards
  • Ensure drawings are dimensionally clear, complete and correct
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of drafting/design/CADD/GIS experience
  • Knowledge of current Esri ARCGIS, Autodesk AutoCAD software required
  • The ability to utilize/import raster and vector data including digital orthophotos, global positioning data, and geographic information system data
  • Experience background in civil design, Cartography and Geography
  • Excellent computer skills including practical knowledge of, MS Office and other related applications
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple and varied deadlines
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in data analysis and assist management
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate Degree from an accredited 2 year school, minimum
  • Bachelors of Science Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferred
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED
  • Application certificates recognized by ESRI a plus.
  • GISPs (with exam) a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
