If you get excited by the thought of working really hard on these kinds of problems, then EliseAI is the right place for you.About The RoleReporting to the Financial Controller, the Collections/Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage collection efforts, identify slow-paying customers, and escalate non-payers to the appropriate teams. They will also handle customer account reconciliations, assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for improvement, and assist in other accounting-related tasks. EliseAI is expanding its in-house Accounting department with the goal of building a world-class team that supports the company's growth by aiding other business functions and providing visibility into business performance. The Collections/Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a critical role in settling past-due invoices and improving the company's cash flow. This position will be based at our headquarters in New York City.Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable by communicating with clients via email, telephone, and mail.
- Send invoices and statements to customers.
- Generate non-standard customer invoices for third-party billing portal submissions.
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
- Maintain up-to-date customer information in the Accounts Receivables CRM.
- Support other finance team members, e.g., posting payments, bookkeeping, preparing bank checks, and ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; major in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting; public accounting experience preferred; high-growth enterprise SaaS experience preferred
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including US GAAP and accounting topics relevant to enterprise SaaS companies
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and the ability to adapt to new accounting software
- Experience with Salesforce and other enterprise systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Google Suite
- Direct and clear communicator, both written and verbal. Not afraid to speak up
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - flexible, adaptable, with high attention to detail, willing to get hands dirty, collaborative
