MDW Associates is seeking a Junior/Entry Budget Analyst to provide sound financial stewardship, data analytics, and innovative approaches to our National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) client at Stennis Space Center, Bay St, Louis, MS. This position is partially remote. This position requires candidates be located within reasonable proximity to Stennis Space Center in order to support the NFSS customer with hybrid work schedules (at least 2 days/week onsite), on-site meetings and other in-person requirements. The Budget Analyst will:
- Serve as an apprentice or junior analyst to systematically integrate business and financial management processes to ensure the efficient stewardship of public funds
- Under contractor supervision, assess products and procedures for compliance with Government standards, sound accounting principles and multi-tiered system application standards
- Be cognizant of interrelationships between financial management requirements and automated solutions, considering the current system environment and the potential integration of added systems concurrently or later
Required Experience/Skills:
- 0-1+ years of experience in budget analysis or related field
- Knowledge of data science, analytics, information systems, statistics, data analysis methods, relational databases, data visualization (Power BI and other Dashboarding) is a MUST
- Critical thinking skills~ Analytic and Abstract
- Date-driven & confident in asking questions
- Familiar with financial management, business case analysis
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools; Proficient with Excel
- Candidates for this position should be confident communicators who are able to tell a story and present complex insights in an accessible way
Required Experience/Skills:
- Understanding of programming languages is a PLUS
Education Requirements:
- Candidates for this position must possess a BA/BS degree
