Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a Junior Estimator to join their dynamic team in Middlesex County, NJ.

Job Summary:

As a Junior Estimator, you will play a key role in assisting the estimating team with cost analysis, budgeting, and the preparation of estimates for commercial interiors and healthcare construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional with a passion for construction and a desire to develop their skills in project estimating within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to assess scope of work.
  • Support senior estimators with the gathering of material and labor costs, including subcontractor and vendor quotes.
  • Analyze historical data to develop cost models and assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate project cost estimates.
  • Perform takeoffs from drawings and blueprints to determine quantities and material costs.
  • Help with bid submissions, including compiling proposals and coordinating project timelines.
  • Maintain records of estimates, change orders, and project documentation for future reference.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost control reports and support project teams throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Stay current with industry trends, cost data, and construction methods.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating, ideally in commercial interiors or healthcare construction.

  • Skills:
  • Familiarity with estimating software BuildingConnected (or ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Preferred:
  • Previous experience of commercial interiors and healthcare construction processes and materials.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in NYC/NJ.
