Job Summary:The Tax Operations Assistant will support Financial Advisors and Client Service Associates by assisting with various tax-related operations, including IRS Chapter 3 & 4 NRA and FATCA regulations, withholding, and reporting requirements. This role requires proficiency in Excel and the ability to handle high-volume tasks during the tax season. The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn, and capable of analyzing issues and escalating them when necessary. The position involves both technical knowledge and strong communication skills, as the assistant will engage with financial advisors and client service associates via phone and ticket management systems.Top Skills:•Tax/Accounting background; Client Service; Excel proficiency•Knowledge of IRS Chapter 3 & 4 NRA and FATCA regulations•Familiarity with withholding and reporting•Understanding of various client account classifications, tax document requirements, and associated withholding/reporting obligations•Proficiency with Excel and relevant computer programs•Ability to work nights and weekends, particularly from January to April (tax season) and as needed•Strong soft skills, as the role involves communication with Financial Advisors/Client Service Associates•Eagerness to learn and the ability to analyze issues and escalate when necessaryKey Responsibilities:•Assist Financial Advisors via MSSN/PSN calls and Case Management tickets sent to Tax Ops.•Review Year-End Processing, Mass corrections, IRS Files, and Reclasses.•Process daily reconciliation and review ad hoc break reports.•Assist in creating and reviewing audit procedure documentation.Required Qualifications:•Undergraduate Degree (required)•Tax/Accounting background with a strong understanding of IRS regulations and reporting requirements.Preferred Qualifications:•Experience in financial services or tax operations.•Familiarity with tax software and reporting systems.Education: Masters Degree
