The Role The Junior Premedia Artist prepares and optimizes client-supplied artwork for digital print production across our range of in-house devices. Leveraging their prepress and print expertise, Premedia Artists work within our unique packaging prototyping environment, where they handle tight deadlines and complex file conditions to deliver high-quality prints. This is not a creative graphic design role. Core Responsibilities
- Preflight client files and evaluate artwork based on the requirements of the job. Determine if supplied artwork is acceptable and make recommendations to solve problems and complete projects.
- Analyze construction of client files and modify when needed; requiring advanced skills in Illustrator and Photoshop and proficiency in art creation and color correction.
- Analyze client files and make adjustments to digital files to achieve proper color conversion, image placement, and corrections.
- Use of a variety of output devices: image setters, densitometers, color copiers, and large format inkjet printers.
- Maintenance of image setters, film processors, color printers and inkjet printers.
- Vendor contact and ordering of paper, film, and inkjet supplies.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge in Photoshop and Illustrator with an emphasis on image creation, color correction, and spot colors for packaging.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- Must be customer-focused with a desire to produce the highest quality product in the industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field, preferably.
- 0-2 years related experience
