Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the IT industry
• 2-3+ years of experience in systems administration or systems engineering
• Experience configuring and maintaining servers
• Experience troubleshooting Level 2 and Level 3 system incidents
• Experience with group policies and sites & services within Active Directory
• Administration experience with AT LEAST TWO of the following: VMware, SCCM, Google Workspace, O365, or Intune Strong customer service and communication skills

Job Description

A client is looking for a technical systems engineer to sit onsite 2 days a week in Harrison, NY and 3 days remote. This person will be spending about 75% of their time on incident management and technical troubleshooting, and about 25% on project work. Their responsibilities will consist of escalations from technicians out in the field, such as issues within systems including Active Directory, Google Workspace, Azure, VMware, SCCM, or Intune to name a few. An example would be a server being unable to connect to storage, a user ID from Active Directory not moving over correctly to Google Workspace, deploying applications via the google portal to various devices, etc. Projects could include building new systems, upgrading existing systems, engineering solutions for districts based on their current environment and apparent gaps, migrating from SCCM to Intune, or security-related initiatives. This person may be interfacing with customers directly and needs to have sharp communication and customer service skills.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Compensation: $30hr to $40hr
