Junior Underwriter (PGIA) Hybrid (Remote available for the right candidate)Partners General Insurance Agency, LLC, a subsidiary of K2 Insurance Services, LLC, is seeking a full-time Junior Underwriter to join their underwriting team in the Shelton, CT area. This is an office hybrid position. Candidates will be in or near Shelton, CT.While this role is designed as an office hybrid position in the Shelton, CT area, remote work options may be considered for highly qualified candidates based on experience and alignment with company needs.Founded in 2001, Partners General is a managing underwriter for general liability and excess liability programs offered in all 50 states. Our compensation package includes competitive pay; bonus plan; medical, dental, vision insurance; unlimited paid time-off (PTO) in year of hire; and 401(k) with employer match.Junior Underwriter Role:Work directly with Regional Vice President to collect, review and analyze an applicant to determine the liability / level of risk of insuring, coverage needs and appropriate pricingOffer management recommendations on whether or not to approve an applicationFollow up with Brokers to obtain documentation and outstanding itemsKeep detailed records / notes of policies underwritten and decisions madeAssist management in developing and maintaining a profitable book of businessAssist management in negotiating terms, conditions and pricing to ensure profitabilityWork within a team-oriented environment to collaborate on risk and strategyDevelop a comprehensive understanding of coverage forms and endorsementsDevelop a comprehensive understanding of carrier guidelinesConfidently make educated decisions on behalf of the company and our carriersIdeally, the Junior Underwriter will have:Strong work ethicStrong organizational skillsStrong analytical skillsPersonability or willingness to speak with clients via phone call.Desire to learn and grow and hunger for career growthWillingness to take on Ad Hoc projectsWillingness to travel locally when / if neededTeam player / team-oriented mentalitySensible judgement and attention to detailTechnical Skills:3-5 years of prior experience in commercial casualty insurance, including Commercial General Liability and/or Excess LiabilityBasic knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to loss exposureCollege Degree Not Required (Highly Preferred)Ability to be in Shelton, CT office 2-3x a week (Highly Preferred)Institute designations not required, but advantageous and preferred.Pay Range: $75,000-$125,000 USD per yearCompensation details: 75000-125000 Yearly SalaryPI8da852ea6e5e-25660-#######6
