This position is based at Craven Community College in New Bern (Craven County), North Carolina. Position will require frequent travel to Raleigh and the youth development centers.
This is a full time TIME-LIMITED position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits for a limited duration of 3 years.
Job duties for this position require driving a state vehicle. A valid driver's license must be obtained by date of hire
The Juvenile Reentry Employment Project (JREP) Consultant position will serve the district 3 counties of Pitt, Craven, Carteret, and Pamlico. Services will commence 120 days prior to release from a youth development center and terminate at the end of the post-release supervision period. The JREP Consultant will be responsible for recruiting youth for the project, assisting in the creation of reentry plan that supports participation in JREP at the Volt Center and coordinating housing and other supportive services with service providers and local reentry councils.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm or as determined by supervisor.

To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:
* Knowledge of the principles and techniques of working with children/adolescents, some of whom may exhibit, severe, emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health concerns.
* Knowledge of the reentry needs of the population served.
* Experience delivering training sessions for both direct-care facility staff and/or adjudicated juveniles.
* Knowledge of learning theory and/or behavioral modification and/or their application to child development.
* Experience working with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals; family members, and/or family partner agencies.
* Experience participating in program planning, evaluation and/or quality control methods.
Management Preferences: These skills are not required but managers may choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences.
* Prior work or volunteer experience with justice involved youth, juvenile facility-based work or justice involved, lived experience.
* Knowledge of evidence based practices for case management, reentry and justice involved populations.
