Overview

The Assistant Program Director assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Program Director. Their core functions include daily program development, documentation oversight, staff supervision, scheduling, School visits, implementation, and facilitation of program model, guiding the youth development and treatment process, and ensuring and facilitating communication between all shifts. Other duties include oversight of physical environment, resource acquisition, and assisting with training of direct care staff.

Responsibilities

* Ensure all staff are up to date with all ACS/Rising ground required training.

* Complete weekly staff schedules to support program day to day, facility transports/outings.

* Ensuring youth support is made available for all medical and mental health appointment.

* Conduct ongoing documented supervision with staff and co-facilitate BI-weekly staff meetings in coordination with the program director.

* In the absence of the Program Director, AD will assume the leadership role.

* Conduct site inspections on a routine basis and ensure standards are being met; submit work orders for repairs.

* Attend monthly ACS required directors' meetings.

* Complete Monthly reports for ACS.

* School visits 2x per week.

* Review all logs twice a week.

* Review incident reports followed by a supervisory review/note.

* Conduct weekly random video review on a regular basis and follow up with staff.

* Conduct daily medication audit to ensure youth have an adequate amount of medication on hand. In addition, confirm medication delivery with staff on site.

* Update the MAR as needed when youth medications are changed or discontinued.

* Conduct safety and emergency procedures (e.g., fire drills).

* Complete JYF Core training in addition to supporting with new employee checklist.

* Must be able to obtain and keep s95 or F80 FDNY certificate of fitness.

* Work in conjunction with the PD to ensure all PREA standards are adhered to.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's strongly preferred.

* High School Diploma/ GED required.

* Proven leadership Skills.

* Experience working with youth and families in residential settings.

* Experience working within child welfare and/or juvenile justice fields.

* Proficient Computer skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft, Excel.

* Strong oral and written communication skills.

* Knowledge and understanding of individual and group behavior.

* Knowledge of and continued training in individual and group counseling techniques, including verbal and physical crisis intervention/de-escalation techniques.

* Understanding of the possible functions of behaviors of concern.

* Understanding of child development and family & community systems.

Full time position, 35 hours per week. The daily schedule must reflect a working weekend day (Sat. or Sun.); expected work hours 11AM-7PM.
