Position Type: Administration/CoordinatorDate Posted: 12/11/2024Location: District-WideClosing Date: Until Filled SALARY Part-time based on experience and qualifications SUMMARY The K-12 Diploma Plus Project Manager will support, and implement key component of the Diploma Plus Program across Adrian Public Schools. This role will ensure that students in the elementary, middle, and high schools are provided with pathways to gain additional credentials and experiences that prepare them for post-secondary education and career success. This includes creating opportunities for dual enrollment, career certifications, internships, and exposure to a wide range of career options. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The K-12 Diploma Plus Project Manager reports to the Superintendent. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program Development & Coordination:
Explore establish dual enrollment and 13th year program opportunities for students. Develop 9th and 10th grade careers and trades opportunities for students. Implement systems and structures to embed individual success plans for students. Work with administration to explore the expansion of the district's alternative education programming. Other Duties as assigned to support the Diploma Plus Program. Partnership Development:
Collaborate with Industry & Community Partners: Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, colleges, trade schools, and community organizations to provide students with internship, mentorship, and career shadowing opportunities. Engage Parents & Families: Partner with families to educate them about the benefits of the Diploma Plus opportunities, ensuring all students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, can access the resources available. Student Support & Guidance:
Career Counseling: Collaborate with school counselors to ensure students have access to career guidance, including individual advising on college, career, and technical education (CTE) options. Tracking & Monitoring Student Progress: Implement a system to track student participation in dual enrollment, certifications, and internships. Ensure students are meeting program goals and assist in removing barriers to access. Professional Development & Training:
Stay Current on Trends: Stay up to date with best practices and emerging trends in career education, workforce development, and K-12 programming to enhance the Careers for All program. Other:
?Represent the Adrian Public Schools in an affirmative manner in the community. Other responsibilities as may be assigned. Work calendar to be established. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in education, career and technical education, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in education, career readiness, workforce development, or a related field. Experience working with K-12 students in diverse environments is strongly preferred.
- Certifications: Valid teaching or counseling certification (preferred). Experience with International Baccalaureate (IB), dual enrollment, or CTE certification programs is highly desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Leadership: Strong ability to lead initiatives, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and manage programs across multiple school levels (elementary, middle, and high school).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inform students, parents, teachers, and external partners.
- Organization: Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion of program goals.
- Innovation: Demonstrated creativity in developing programs that engage students in career readiness and post-secondary preparation.
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.
