The Literacy Tutor will participate in intervention groups in reading.Classification: Full-time/Salaried/Exempt/185 daysPrincipal Accountabilities:1. Administer universal/diagnostic assessments and share results with administrators and teachers2. Collaborate with administrators, teachers and reading specialists in order to assist their a) review of school-wide data to identify students' strengths and/or areas of need and b) development of intervention plans and instructional groupings3. Participate in SRBI Team meetings as may be requested by administrators to review progress monitoring data to assist the decision-making process regarding tiered support4. Maintain and collect data/current records of students' performance in order to keep administrators, teachers and parents abreast of students' progressOther Responsibilities:1. The Literacy Tutor may be assigned to cover a class, in the temporary/short-term absence of the classroom teacher, to the extent permitted by law2. Experience with Scientific Research-Based interventions (SRBI) and progress monitoring2. Experience with the LLI/Fundations programs and such assessments as Running Records and the DRA 23. Willingness to participate in relevant professional development in literacy instruction4. Ability to support and motivate; be positive, trust-worthy and committed to promoting the school's vision, mission and goals5. Excellent collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and writtenThe following experiences/qualifications are preferred: 1. An active elementary teaching certificate2.
