Primary Purpose of Position:
This position works with plant planning team and production organization to translate daily production goals into detailed component manufacturing schedules using a computerized Kanban system. Constant monitoring, re-prioritizing and schedule adjustments are required in response to manufacturing variations. Collect and interpret data and other inputs to make fact based decisions impacting manufacturing priorities. Consult with appropriate management/process owners regarding manufacturing issues and priorities and drive processes to ensure the proper outcome.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
* Conduct accurate, timely daily inventories of assigned components to ensure validity of data
* Incorporate inventories into the Kanban scheduling process to determine impact on the flow of production
* Daily coordination meetings to adjust for production variations, material changes, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities and reprioritization of the product flow
* Constant monitoring of the Kanban system to ensure a smooth flow of production. Regular interpersonal coordination with managers and operators in response to changes in the system
* Conduct analysis of scheduling systems and procedures to forestall issues identify improvement initiatives
* Perform and execute all other duties assigned by direct leadership
Education:
* High School Diploma is required
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics-Distribution, Industrial Engineering, or related fields is preferred
Experience:
* Plant/manufacturing experience preferred.
* 3-5 years' experience in supply chain/planning field.
Skills:
* Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, nights and weekends
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence individuals to accomplish planning objectives in the prescribed manner
* Strong computer skills required, to include Microsoft Office products
