Job Responsibilities:
- Feed and water animals according to schedules and feeding instructions
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and other animal holding areas
- Clean and maintain other areas of the hospital
- Clean and maintain some equipment throught the hospital
- Communicate with pet owners in a clear and understandable manner
- Follow instruction - both oral and written
- Monitor animal behavior and report any unusual behavior to the supervisor
- Bath and minimal grooming of animals
- Handle animals - both friendly and not so friendly
- Have the ability to lift/move animals
- Be able to handle some heavy physical labor
- Be able to stand for long periods, walk distances without having to stip and sit, be able to squat/bend
- Administer medication to animals as directed by the veterinarian or supervisor
- Assist with animal exercise and playtime
- Assist with animal intake and discharge
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Have the availability to work weekends and holidays
