Kennel Technician - Part Time

Dallas, TX

Animal Medical Center of Forney is looking for a part time kennel technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You

Kennel Technicians a maintain clean, healthy, and safe kennel conditions while providing regularly scheduled feed and water, and exercise of AMCF guests. Our Pet Resort Attendants specialize in providing the kind of individual care that help pets to adapt to and enjoy their temporary environment.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

* Required: direct animal/patient care experience required (kennel/shelter/hospital setting)

* Have a friendly & outgoing personality

* Thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to challenges positively

* Be punctual and have weekend, weekday, and some holiday availability

* Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 40lbs

* Not be afraid to get dirty!

* Desire to practice empathetic, gold standard care benefiting our patients

* Team oriented with an ability to collaborate and support each other

* Are paw-sitive, kind and provide trustworthy communication to the patients, team members and clients.

Role Responsibilities:

* Prepare feed for animals according to specific instructions

* Record important information about the animals' condition, behavior and habits. Report any abnormal findings to a technician

* Perform baths, nail trims and express anal glands to patients

* Be responsible for the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the clinic and property

* Assist with laundry and keep the area neat and organized

* Hold or restrain animals while assisting the Dr or Technician

* Alert a lead technician or the Dr of any abnormal findings with patients/boarders

* Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
