iXCells Biotechnologies is an innovative cell biology and cell technology company that provides preclinical drug discovery solutions with a focus on disease relevant cellular models, enabling technologies and services to theglobal academic, biotech and pharma communities to accelerate the pace of drug discovery.We are searching for an experienced Key Account Manager (KAM) to join our commercial team. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the KAM has a fundamental understanding of primary and iPSC derived cell-based applications across life science market segments and workflows, such as (but not limited to) cell biology research, drug discovery and development, biomarker identification/validation, cell and immunotherapy, and related cell-based assays needed by clients to advance their research and commercialization efforts. The successful candidate is a resourceful, self-starter, who is passionate about engaging with customers to increase global sales of iXCells Biotech's products and services.Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify sales leads (SQLs), generate price quotes, and capture purchase orders.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development (BD) teams to ensure a streamlined sales development workflow, striving to continually increase lead-to-closed won sales conversion rates, maintaining a consistently high customer service level.
- Apply strategies and tactics to ensure high customer retention rates, low customer churn rates, always striving to increase sales pipeline velocity.
- Develop sales plans to achieve or exceed new customer acquisition targets, work with Marketing to advance prospecting activities within acquired accounts, continuously develop positive client relationships, farm customer accounts to grow sales within and across cost centers, where possible.
- Meet with prospects and customers at networking events, conferences and site meetings.
- Collaborate with Marketing and BD to influence content for marketing campaigns (e.g., playbooks) designed to generate strong leads and nurture opportunities within your area of sales responsibility.
- Facilitate meetings between customers and production team as required, to provide clients or prospects with technical information and/or further insights into iXCells capabilities that can provide solutions.
- Serve as a key point of contact for customer engagement, drive profitable revenue growth for iXCells' products and services, achieve or exceed annual sales goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities to move acquired customers into Master Service Agreements (MSAs) or other types of supply and service contracts to facilitate growth into key account status and beyond.
- Ensure customer records in the CRM are accurate and continually update the status of sales opportunities flowing through sales development stages (ERP system); generate sales reports to monitor sales performance, work collaboratively with the Business Development team to develop sales forecasts and develop new business opportunities.
- Collect voice-of-customer feedback, including complaints, and report to the commercial and/or operational teams for further action and timely resolution.
- Contribute towards improving competitive intelligence, help identify opportunities to expand iXCells products and services that address unmet market needs.Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant life science field with preferred experience in primary cells/stem cell research, cell engineering, and/or CRO services, especially in a Drug Discovery setting.
- At least five years of sales or business development experience selling products and/or services to pharma, biopharma, cell and immunotherapy, and/or biotech organizations to support various life science applications, especially within preclinical development.
- Experience prospecting potential new customers, developing and qualifying sales leads, preferred experience utilizing prospecting tools and resources.
- Experience applying strategic sales and negotiation skills, proven ability to develop and grow key accounts, and forecast sales is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communication abilities in both sales and scientific settings.
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills, ability to deliver presentations to management team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple projects.
- High proficiency in PC and app-based software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM application, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google application suite).
- Preferred experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, such as Oracle, SAP, or alternative software platforms.
- Exemplify a growth mindset and demonstrate a bias for action and results, consistently self-evaluating and adjusting to improve performance.
