Advanced computer skills required with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Candidates may be required to take a computer skills proficiency test. Writing and grammar skills needed. The position requires strong organization and time management skills, attention to detail and problem-solving. This position includes continuous interaction with the public. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to pleasantly and effectively interact with community members, Rutgers University departments, and Cape May County departments. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week), with a base starting salary of $36,000.00 and an incredible benefits package.PURPOSE:Provides both clerical and professional support to FCHS department and RCE communities. Assists FCHS Agent III in planning, promoting, presenting, and evaluating all nutrition and wellness programs for various Cape May County partners and agencies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supports FCHS program outreach throughout the County including the development of program agendas, correspondence with community partners, and administrative support for programs.Reviews, checks, updates and distributes various program marketing materials.Markets programs via digital and printed information, including the County FCHS Website, Facebook Page, management and distribution of weekly FCHS newsletter and Vision Newsletter.Communicates, organizes and schedules various committee, coalition and board meetings as requested by FCHS Faculty and Staff.Creates, maintains and submits various department-related reports including impact and status reports, travel and expense reports and purchases of supplies on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.Work with County and University systems to ensure operational cohesiveness for the department.Data entry for grants and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program in various state and federal data systems such as SAMS.Accounting of FCHS department budget to monitor expenses for county, university and grants budgets.Record, prepare and distribute minutes from department meetings.Maintain and organize various files within the department.Perform varied office duties, including keyboarding and filing.Maintain computer and manual filing systems.Other duties as assigned.RELATIONSHIPS:Responsible to the County FCHS Rutgers Cooperative Extension Agent III for accountability in relation to program and job responsibilities.Responsible to the County Department Head through the FCHS County Agent III for all expenditures involving County funds.Responsible to the Director of Extension through the FCHS County Agent III and FCHS Department Chair for all expenditures involving State or Federal funds.Responsible to the appropriate RCE subject matter specialist, through the FCHS County Agent for subject matter accuracy and adequacy.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING:High School Diploma/GED.Preferred: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate or bachelor's degree.Proven administrative or clerical experience.Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong proficiency with computer technology with MS Office skills preferred.Strong organizational and planning skills.Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Experience working with diverse audiences and effective human relations skills.Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.Knowledge of program development, youth/adult education is desirable.Strong oral and written communication skills.LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:Valid NJ Driver's LicenseKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with diverse populations and demonstrating superior customer service skills.Ability to resolve problems and make decisions.Knowledge of office methods, procedures, policies, guidelines and equipment used to check, sort, index, store and file records after a period of training.Knowledge and ability to meet office deadlines, routines, schedules and procedures.Ability to organize work and develop effective work methods.Ability to maintain records and files.Ability to check, sort, file, and obtain documents.
