The hourly rate of pay is $22.05. This position is located at our Plant on Route 30 in Gettysburg.**The Kiln Attendant manually loads and unloads tile for the firing process. The Kiln Attendant also performs periodic quality checks of the fired tile.Major Functions and Scope:+ Loads greenware into the kilns per loading schedule.+ Unloads fired tile from setters into bins.+ Transport fired tile from kiln to staging area for shipping.+ Maintains kiln cars and makes minor adjustments as necessary.+ Performs quality checks on kiln as required.+ Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.+ Follows standard operating and safety procedures.+ Keeps area safe, clean and organized.+ Performs other related duties as required.Education and Knowledge:+ High school diploma or equivalent .Experience:+ A minimum of 1 year prior manufacturing experience.+ Prior experience working in a kiln environment preferred.Competencies:+ Good oral and written communications skills.+ Good record keeping skills.+ Good listening skills.+ Accurate measurement capability.+ Ability to understand and speak basic English.+ Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.+ Ability to differentiate between colors.+ Ability to work independently.We offer competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, career opportunities, and an environment of creativity and growth.
