Job Description

Position Overview

The KIPP NYC Manager, People Team is an essential member of the People Team and will support the strategic execution of team goals and regional initiatives of the People Team. The Manager will manage and lead specific assigned projects, in addition to general People Team Operations support. This is an ideal position for a candidate who has excellent demonstrated abilities in knowledge management, document retention, communications, and systems design, especially in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Reporting to the Senior Director, People, the Manager will also support the People leadership team and collaborate with other KIPP NYC Shared Services Teams.

This role is based in NYC and will require regular travel to our central office in Midtown Manhattan and occasional travel to our NYC schools. If you relocate outside of a commutable distance or out of the state of NY, your employment will be subject to review, which may include separation from KIPP NYC. It is important that you notify HR if you move or have plans to relocate.

General Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

* Support Senior Director with People Team projects, especially the execution of People Team yearly goal project plans, including performance enablement, workforce planning, and people team functions

* Design presentation materials and team documents, resources, project calendar and other project tools for the senior team leaders, especially the Chief People Officer

* Prepare written materials for a range of stakeholders, including regional communications, Senior Leaders, and People team.

* Collect and analyze People Team data, in collaboration with all People Team leaders, to identify areas of risk, drive results and strategic decisions. Track goal setting and progress monitoring towards overall team goals

* Maintain the People Team section of our regional intranet KIPP:GO, especially any updates to People Team policies

* Plan and execute operations for professional development events and celebrations, including team retreats and training

* Manage team operational administrative needs (e.g. purchasing, travel, professional development arrangements, credit card processing, team budgeting, etc.)

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree required

* 4+ years of work experience in non-profit or education

* Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high quality work in a dynamic environment

* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders across functional and organizational lines

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Asana, and other data analytics

Compensation and Benefits:

KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,340 - $92,700. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function. Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.
