We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to collaborate with our Kitchen Manager and Cook in delivering timely, nutritious meals to our students. Your role will be vital in creating an inviting atmosphere for all members of our school community. **Responsibilities:** - Assist the Kitchen Manager and Cook in preparing and serving meals for students in accordance with State of Illinois guidelines. - Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards. - Support in the preparation of ingredients, such as washing, chopping, and portioning. - Ensure that food is stored properly and rotated to maintain freshness. - Assist in the setup and cleanup of the dining area, including wiping tables and sanitizing surfaces. - Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient meal service and timely cleanup. - Engage with students and staff in a friendly and respectful manner, fostering a positive dining experience. **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Prior experience in a kitchen environment is beneficial but not required; we are happy to provide training for the right candidate. - Must have or be able to obtain minimum ServSafe food handling certification. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety. - A positive attitude and a passion for serving others. **Schedule:** This is a part-time position, with shifts available for 3 hours during school days.
