Position Type: Food Service/Food Prep/Server Date Posted: 5/21/2024 Location: Nutrition Date Available: 08/12/2024 Kitchen Staff Benefits include health/ life insurance, PERA, & paid health days Position Function: Under the direct supervision of the Kitchen Manager. Essential Functions:
  • Prepares food as directed.
  • Measures and maintains the temperature of the hot and cold food lines.
  • Serves food.
  • Clean up of pots, pans, knives, silverware and trays.
  • Additional Duties:
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Wears appropriate safety gear, including gloves. Must comply with school district's food hygiene program. Travel Requirements Occasional travel between schools may be required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with principal and others.
  • Ability to understand English.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students and others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
  • Works in school cafeteria.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to kitchen hazards.
Qualifications Profile:
  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Previous experience in restaurant/kitchen food service management
  • Current valid driver's license is needed to travel between buildings using a district vehicle.
