Bethanie, Western Australias leading not for profit aged care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and caring for seniors for over 65 years. We currently have a vacancy at Bert England Lodge Aged Care Home in Rockingham for a Kitchen Hand on a casual basis. Bert England Lodge has just recently joined the Bethanie family and is a 44 bed facility offering dementia care as well as respite, located close to Rockingham General Hospital.
As a Kitchen Hand, you will work closely with the Cook / Chef, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area and its equipment and assisting in the preparation and serving of meals.
Experience in the preparation of texture modified meals and other dietary requirements would be advantageous in your application.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
* Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
* Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
* Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery
**Requirements:**
* Possess a passion for, and previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
* Have a can do attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
* Reliable with a strong work ethic
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to communicate both orally and written
* A current police clearance or willingness to get one
* Willingness to obtain any relevant vaccinations required
