We are proud to have 'National School to Watch' and 'Blue Ribbon Award' winning schools. POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor, this position provides kitchen support for a variety of tasks related to kitchen production and food service responsibilities. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities. COMPENSATION: $13.76 - 15.78 per hour - based on years of experience in similar position According to the 2023-2024 approved salary schedule for Nutrition Services Personnel AVAILABLE START DATE: August 2024 EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Assist with general kitchen production
  • Prepare, assist with set up, serving or cashiering and clean up for breakfast
  • Keep accurate records of production
  • Fill in for assistant cook when needed
  • Keep work space and equipment clean and organized
  • Complete all general kitchen and baking duties efficiently; preparation, serving and clean up
  • Assist with serving line set up for meal service
  • Cashier or assist with serving during lunch periods
  • Assist with tear down and general clean up after meal service
  • Application of individual student deposits if necessary
  • Other duties which may be assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or GED
  • ServSafe Certification Preferred or must be willing to acquire certification after hire
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all employees, students and parents
  • Familiar with and/or capable of learning cash register operations point of sale system
  • Punctual and excellent attendance record
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, quickly and accurately under tight time constraints
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health Department Regulations for safe food handling and sanitation
  • Knowledge of School Food Service Basics preferred
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including bending, twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, ability to push and/or pull loaded carts and stand for long periods of time without accommodations.
  • Pre-placement physical screening to include agility will be required at the expense of the employer for new hires.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor work environment with moderate to warm temperatures, ambient to moderate noise level, and moments of fast-paced activity during food service periods.
