Kitchen Manager SY 2024-2025Hours: 6:30am - 2:00pmPay Rate: Step 1 $25/hourResponsible to: Food Service DirectorJob Summary: The Kitchen Manager plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of the school Food Service, fostering maximum student participation. This position entails planning, supervising, and actively participating in the daily production of meals and a variety of a la carte items. Duties include inventory control, ordering, receiving, and meticulous record-keeping for all food, supplies, and meal production.Demonstrating leadership and initiative is key, ensuring the creation of appetizing, nutritious, and popular food items. Collaboration with the Food Service Director is essential to control expenses and generate the revenue necessary for financial stability. Effective communication with food service staff, school faculty, administration, and students is paramount, reflecting a high level of personal and professional integrity. Upholding excellent customer service standards is central to all tasks.Moreover, adherence to regulations of the Child Nutrition Program and implementation of proper HACCP procedures are imperative.Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all duties and responsibilities of Food Service staff, establishing daily and weekly task schedules and delegating
- Provide comprehensive training to staff in food preparation, quality control, and sanitation, adhering to relevant
- Participate in in-service training and professional development
- Ensure all department employees maintain standards for dress and
- Supervise food preparation, maintaining high standards in flavor, appearance, and
- Foster harmonious working relationships and cooperation among staff, school personnel, and students.
- Enforce Food Service Department policies and safety measures, with proper documentation when
- Manage food and supplies inventory, including ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating
- Maintain accurate records of income, food, supplies, and
- Supervise and evaluate Food Service staff performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
- Manage catering preparation and delivery, ensuring compliance with program and district standards.
- Maintain regular communication with the site principal regarding events and
- Email must be checked multiple times a day to ensure there are no changes in the breakfast or lunch
- Adhere to all deadlines set up by the Food Service Director and district, including but not limited to: Monthly Inventory, Daily Deposits,
- Operate kitchen equipment effectively and
- Prepare the kitchen for school opening and closing.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of clean Aprons and Towels are ready for the next work
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service
Manager's Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 2:00 PM (subject to change) Required Paperwork:

- Monthly Commodity Order Form Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift cases up to 40 pounds and carry them from storage to work
- Prolonged standing, reaching, and
- Tolerance for variations in temperature, including working in cold or hot
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years working experience in school food services
- ServSafe
- Allergen Training
- CPR certificate
- Ability to supervise and train staff while performing assigned
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation, and
- Basic understanding of National School Breakfast and Lunch Program
- Strong organizational and leadership
- Proficiency in computer literacy for email, word processing, Google Sheets, and data
- Working knowledge of Point of Sale
