DescriptionPay Range: $16.00- $20.00 per hourJOB OVERVIEW Under Food Service Manager Supervision, the KITCHEN/DELI PREP performs the following duties: TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare recipes for established menu by looking over the Daily Prep List at the start of each shiftEnsure the freshness and quality of prepared foodPrepare soups, corn bread, biscuits and refill as neededEnsure that leftover food is store properlyTest the temperature of food at specified intervalsFill cold line with prepared vegetables and refill as neededCover for cooks during 10 minute breaks and lunch break as neededPromptly report equipment and food quality problems to a managerInform manager immediately of product shortagesFollow Mother's safety rules and regulations.Keep all work areas clean and observe Health Department RegulationsAttend all scheduled employee meetingsCustomer ServiceQUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following: Training/Education: Some experience and/or training in the preparation and serving of hot and/or cold food in a commercial food service settingKnowledge of: Cooking techniques used for cold and hot food preparationHealth codes applicable to food serviceProper food storage, rotation and cleaning techniquesUse of commercial kitchen equipmentAbility to: Must be able to read and understand recipe's in English. Must have verbal proficiency of the English Language, and be able to read and write English at a basic levelRead, understand and follow recipesPerform simple arithmetic calculations related to food preparationWork in an accurate manner in a fast-paced environmentCommunicate with supervisors and co-workers in a manner able to be understoodMaintain a clean and safe environment for coworkers and customersComply with company standards and directivesPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions Stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)Push, carry and lift large equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds; up to 100 timesUse carts and dollies to carry product from coolers to work stationBend, stoop and kneel to retrieve food preparation itemsExtend arms overhead and reach for products and boxesWork both inside and outside in wet and/or dry, hot and/or cold conditionsPerform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentComply with health code requirementsSpecial Requirements: Must be available to work various shifts as neededThis job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the performance of this job.
