We are Tropical Grille, a fast-casual restaurant with Cuban-inspired cuisine that is rapidly growing in the Upstate and beyond!We are currently recruiting Back of House (Food Preparation, Cook, Food Safety) team members for our location. Pay rates are competitive and generous for qualified candidates. Employees receive tip share on top of their hourly pay and all full-time employees can enroll in healthcare if desired. Scheduling is flexible and can accommodate a wide variety of part-time or full-time availability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities - Adhere to DHEC and Tropical Grille rules and regulations and recipes.
- Prep food
- Assist in putting away truck orders.
- Cook food to order.
- Communicating with management if help is needed.
- Ensure proper rotation and labeling of food, FIFO.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and freshness.
- Prepare catering.
- Breaking down and cleaning equipment
- Responsibilities are not limited to direct job description; we expect all team members to perform any additional tasks asked of them by management.
Skills and Competencies: - Knowledge of food safe temperatures
- Sense of Urgency
- Organization, multi-tasking
- Basic knife skills
Physical Job Requirements- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Physical dexterity is required to clean work areas.
- Able to work in a hot kitchen environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
