Description/Job SummaryThe Knowledge Specialist is a central part of the team responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration and management of the Firm's Knowledge resources for our practice groups. The Knowledge Specialist will work closely with our KM Lawyers and the Associate Director of Knowledge Management to support efforts to capture and maintain client and matter profiles in the Firm's experience management solution. In addition, the Knowledge Specialist will be responsible for organizing and managing practice group intranet sites as well as knowledge repositories to make precedents and know-how available, organized and searchable.Responsibilities/DutiesContinuously build substantive knowledge of the Firm's practice groups to identify opportunities to improve and/or add to the supported Knowledge solutions and resourcesDevelop working knowledge of the content and configuration of the experience management system (i.e.Litera Foundation Firm Intelligence Platform)and integrated data sourcesConfigure profiles and reports in the experience management systemAssist the KM Lawyers in assigning and monitoring progress on collecting client and matter profiles from attorneys in the experience management system, including maintaining a system and process for tracking and reporting on missing profilesBuild, update and maintain Knowledge content on practice group intranet sites including sharing news, articles, training materials or other relevant informationWork with the KM Lawyers to create practice specific training materials and serve as a resource to attorneys for training and assistance with accessing and utilizing Knowledge solutions and resourcesAssist with development and implementation of communication strategies for knowledge management initiatives (e.g., drafting practice group newsletters, intranet posts)Prepare and analyze metrics reports to inform support and adoption strategies and roadmap decisions for Knowledge solutions and resourcesSupport the KM Lawyers in managing knowledge management initiatives including capturing next steps, coordinating meetings and preparing deliverablesEnsure that all work being performed follows sound knowledge management and information governance practicesCollaborate with other Knowledge Specialists on the team to facilitate the sharing of best practices and knowledgeSupport special projects and perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Knowledge & Innovation Officer, Director of Knowledge Management or Associate Director of Knowledge ManagementRequired SkillsExcellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact diplomatically with all levels of firm personnelExceptional attention to detail, strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skillsExcellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters in a fast-paced environment and keep projects moving forward at own initiativeWorking knowledge of SharePoint, iManage, Foundation, enterprise search is desirableStrong technical skills and aptitudeStrong understanding of business processes and the ability to define solutions to support and improve those processesSound judgment with respect to confidential and sensitive informationPreferred SkillsFamiliarity with audio/video tools such as Camtasia for creating training materials is desirableAdvanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is desirableRequired ExperienceA minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required; law firm Knowledge Management preferredRequired EducationBachelor's degree requiredDetailsSalary InformationNY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $85k to $100k at the time of posting.The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
