Job Description:
Reports to: KPS Sr ManagerDescription: The Kasai Production Systems (KPS) Manager is responsible for driving the KPS principles handed down by Kasai and Corp. KPS to ensure the full implementation of the Kasai Production System principles. The KPS Manager provides coaching and direction to the entire KPS staff to ensure all KPS initiatives are fully understood and implemented. The manager is responsible for the sustainment of all KPS initiatives handed down to the plants.Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deploy KPS methodology at plant locations.
  • Monitor KPS activities in plants to ensure targets are being achieved.
  • Supervise and direct the work of KPS Staff.
  • Clearly communicate KPS activities to Plant GM and or Plant Manager on KPS plans, audits, and results.
  • Implement necessary support structures to ensure sustainability e.g. performance management and changes to site organization.
  • Identify and communicate risks and opportunities and generate plans to address each.
  • Supports the Manufacturing department in the development of processes. Provide problem-solving support to maintain a continuous flow of quality products to our customers.
  • Serve as a coach, trainer, and counselor for KPS staff.
  • Support and mentor KPS Tech(s) in the methodology of process validation.
  • Work with support groups in aiding and understanding KPS Activities.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to employees (when needed).
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities to employees.
  • Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies Procedures.
  • Work safely in compliance with KASAI policies and maintain an awareness of danger to themselves and others
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures, and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Bachelor's degree with a working knowledge of shop floor management practices, preferred.
Experience:
  • 3+ years' experience in a production/lean manufacturing leadership role with an understanding of KPS Principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize lean tools and a systematic approach (PDCA) when problem-solving.
  • Manage multiple projects successfully and communicate results clearly.
Skills:
  • High level of problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach lean principles: 5S, standardization, kaizen, problem-solving methodology, flow charts, fishbone diagram, 5 why, and JIT (just-in-time).
  • Demonstrated team building, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Other:
  • Ability to work on any shift and the flexibility to work split shifts if required.
  • Ability to travel as needed for training and support to other facilities.
Work Environment: This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands:The employee frequently is required to stand and walk and occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
