About the department:
ING provides banking services and complex financing solutions to companies globally. To provide a safe banking environment for society and our customers, ING must comply with global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations including maintaining robust Know Your Customer (KYC) controls.
The KYC Team coordinates all KYC activities across different ING business sectors, both with clients and internal stakeholders.
About the position:
The KYC team in North America is offering a KYC (Know Your Client) Operational Management & Change Lead position to an individual with a hands-on mentality and a strategic mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 3-4 people and be a trusted advisor to your colleagues in the KYC Leadership team.
- Drive local transformation initiatives to ensure operational excellence and long-run efficiency of the department.
- Give guidance to the KYC Cockpit (data & analytics): transition from data provider to sharing valuable insights, including recommendations at strategic and tactical level.
- Oversee the process & technology roadmap for the KYC department: Steer continuous improvement, implement process optimization and be a point of contact for global digitization initiatives.
- Manage together with the Head of KYC Americas to make sure local and global stakeholders are informed and conscious decisions are made in a timely manner.
- Oversee the budget for the department: support the annual and quarterly budget process, prepare monthly finance meetings and support vendor negotiations.
- Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the team including preparation of key meetings/session and committees, budget and capacity plan.
Your key responsibilities:
- Nurture your team members. Empower them to play a key role in the implementation of the strategy for KYC Americas while supporting their professional development.
- Prepare senior leadership meetings and KYC committees. Present complex problems in a comprehensive way.
- Partner with key KYC stakeholders to further strengthen and enhance the vision when it comes to target operating model, technology and people applying industry best-practices.
- Manage impediments and dependencies during the implementation of improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Competencies
Qualifications / Education:
- BA/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, MIS, Computer Science, Business or other relevant field of study.
Experience / Knowledge:
- 7+ years of working experience, preferably in corporate and investment / wholesale banking or as part of a consultancy company.
- Proven experience in leading transformation projects, including change management, process re-engineering, and technology adoption.
- Demonstrated capabilities in stakeholder engagement including senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to connect people and data.
- Knowledge of AML and KYC regulations and best practices is a plus.

Base Salary Range: $168K - $212K
