Position Summary
The Lab/ Simulation Coordinator is responsible for the administration and oversight of the extensive and complex activities pertaining to student learning and practice. This occurs in the nursing skills laboratory as well as in the simulation lab.

Major Responsibilities
+ Collaborates with the Traditional program director and nursing faculty to develop, review, revise, and implement operational and student learning goals to support student success.
+ Collaborates with the nursing faculty to design and implement lab instruction for nursing students across the curriculum.
+ Collaborates with the nursing faculty to develop and implement evidence-based simulation scenarios and laboratory skills activities consistent with standards of patient care and professional expectations.
+ Attends lab planning meetings with the didactic and lab faculty to ensure lab and simulation settings appropriately managed and have the required supplies/equipment.
+ Provides oversight and management of the nursing skills laboratory and simulation lab.
+ Develops and maintains the schedule of the nursing skills laboratory to include open lab hours, lab classes, clinical skill competencies, simulation schedules, and utilization of the lab for other disciplines/department requests.
+ Maintains an inventory of lab equipment/supplies and reorders supplies as necessary.
+ Recommends the hiring and manages student lab assistants and adjunct lab instructors.
+ Provides orientation and supervision of student lab assistants and adjunct lab instructors, including scheduling.
+ May perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Qualifications
+ Master's degree in Nursing
+ Current unencumbered NYS RN license.
+ Acute care hospital experience required.
+ BLS credentialed, ACLS preferred.
+ Prior management experience required.
+ Teaching experience preferred.
+ Simulation experience preferred.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
+ Strong computer and technology skills required.
+ Strong organizational skills required.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills
+ The functions of the position usually performed sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, typewriter, calculator, etc. involve extensive wrist and hand movement. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others, or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions listed above.
