Occupational Summary
The Havelock Engineering Program at Craven Community College is seeking applicants for a part-time Lab Assistant to help train and mentor the next generation of engineers. Craven Community College will hire the Lab Assistant to work directly with NC State engineering students in the problem session portion of ECE 109 - Introduction to Computer Systems. We encourage you to apply if you have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field and want to be part of a transformative experience that creates career-ready engineers.
Time Commitment:
* 4-6 hours per week (January 2025 - May 2025) consisting of 1 weekly problem or review session and independent preparation activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Reviews course material as needed by independently watching recorded course lectures throughout the semester
* Completes problem session exercises independently before facilitating problem sessions in-person in Havelock
* Facilitates problem sessions or exam review sessions each week by helping students work through problems
* Grades completed problem session assignments
* Coordinates virtually with NC State faculty in Raleigh and Havelock as needed
Minimum Qualifications
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Computer software knowledge
* Small group classroom management
