Job Description:
Intro We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Lab Assistant to join our team in Canton, MN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and overseeing a range of laboratory, manufacturing, and logistics operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and efficient processes. This role demands a combination of hands-on expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to implement innovative solutions. Job Details - Conduct research activities and tasks in a laboratory environment, recording observations and measurements, and preparing detailed reports. - Maintain and clean laboratory cleanrooms and equipment, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards. - Assist in the receipt, inspection, and management of raw materials, including stocking and ordering inventory and equipment. - Supervise and guide junior staff in the production of active ingredients and intermediates into raw materials. - Operate and troubleshoot formulating equipment for both routine and non-routine production tasks. - Oversee the execution of all phases of crop protection or seed production (e.g., small-seeded vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, squash), ensuring timely, reliable, and high-quality supply to facilities. - Coordinate with third-party cleaning vendors and manage off-site inventory, including scheduling, shipping needs, and stakeholder communications. - Collaborate with specialists to test and implement new production concepts and processes. - Provide logistics and order management support to clients, optimizing processes through lean methodologies and other strategies. - Communicate with internal teams across manufacturing plants, transportation, and storage to ensure seamless operations. Mandatory Skills - Extensive experience in laboratory, manufacturing, and logistics environments with a solid understanding of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. - Proven ability to lead and direct the work of others with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in handling escalated issues with equipment and processes. - Familiarity with logistics management, order processing, and inventory optimization strategies. - Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders effectively. Lab Assistant Desired Skills - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred. - Ability to employ innovative strategies to optimize manufacturing and logistics processes. - Adaptability to a dynamic work environment and contribute to the team's goals with creativity and initiative. Start Date The position is available immediately and is offered on a contract basis for 2 months with potential extensions.Location This position is onsite in Canton, MN, United States.
