Work Schedule: As required by the department Up to 25 hours per week Rate of Pay: This position is a grade 11 with a minimum hourly rate of $17.37 and a mid-point of $23.16. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Grant Funded: No Job Summary: An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty organizing, supplying and maintaining lab facilities for student and instructor use. Work involves providing support to faculty instructors by preparing lab facilities prior to and assisting during open lab hours. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 2. 1-3 years experience working with digital/analog photography, podcasting, and/or videography beyond the fundamental level 3. 1-3 years experience supporting traditional media and digital computer labs strongly preferred, which may include photography, videography, podcasting, etc 4. Basic knowledge of Microsoft OS and apps, Mac OS, and Adobe Creative Suite 5. Basic knowledge of digital input/output technologies as well as hand/power tools 6. Ability to address technical problems in a variety of studios and across several artistic mediums 7. Familiarity of safe handling procedures associated with art equipment, supplies, and chemicals 8. Good organizational and interpersonal skills 9. Basic mathematical and formula computational skills 10. Ability to lift/move 30+ pounds Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's in Fine Arts degree
  • Essential Duties: 1. Prepare lab facilities for all laboratory classes: (1) prepare and store stock solutions and media; (2) prepare equipment for use; (3) clean and organize materials; (4) complete routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, minor technical adjustments, and minor repairs; (5) troubleshoot common software and hardware issues. 2. Collaborate with assigned faculty and Director to establish and implement lab protocols. Assist in maintaining lab facilities that ensure safe, clean, and effective learning environment. Maintain records of lab usage and assist with annual audits of lab spaces. 3. Maintain inventory, organize and re-order supplies 4. Train and delegate tasks to student workers 5. Assist enrolled students during open lab hours. Provide students with assistance using equipment.. Other Duties:
  • May train and delegate jobs to student staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
