**Lab/Durable Medical Equipment Service Representative**

Ensures timely and effective delivery of durable medical equipment (DME), disposable medical supplies, and laboratory services. Troubleshoots, researches and resolves basic and complex issues relatedto orders, vendors, and supplies in a timely and efficient manner to ensure billing and payment for goods and services. Assists with resolution of supplies and DME issue in VNSNY approved ordering and vendor routing system(s). Conducts random in-house and on-site audits on invoices and related documentation.

**Responsibilities**

* Monitors laboratory orders daily to ensure service delivery occurs within prescribed timeframe. Researches outstanding orders, obtains missing information and/or corrects errors by interfacing with appropriate constituencies (patient, lab, nurse, coordinators). Follows-up and communicates status of order to customers from receipt of order through closure.

* Monitors DME/Supply orders daily to ensure equipment/supply delivery. Researches, troubleshoots and resolves order processing delays, delivery and vendor issues, and billing and payment discrepancies. Assists clinical staff with corrections, approvals, updates of orders placed in VNSNY approved ordering and vendor routing system(s). Authorizes and expedites DME/Supply delivery for select cases, as appropriate.

* Reviews and processes DME/Supply/Lab invoices for items billed to VNSNY ensuring accurate billing and payment for goods/services. Researches and resolves all billing discrepancies.

* Tracks and monitors customer complaints concerning DME/Supply/Lab orders, vendor and lab performance. Apprises supervisor of any unusual or complex issues or trends in a timely fashion. Identifies and reports issues/trends and recommends corrective actions to supervisor.

* Conducts audits of in-house billing invoices and performs on-site vendor audits to ensure procedural compliance. Participates in development of audit specifications and creation of documents. Identifies, analyzes and summarizes trends/findings and recommends corrective actions to leadership, as required.

* Collaborates with supervisor concerning best approach to service customers, handle repeat vendor issues and other job related matters to maximize and improve delivery, billing and payment of goods and services.

**Qualifications**

**Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent required.

**Experience:** Minimum of three years of experience in a customer service role required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Advanced personal computer skills, including Word, Excel or Access required. DME/Supply/Lab order processing experience preferred.
