We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lab Manager to oversee our testing and inspection laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, coal testing, and quality assurance. This role involves managing daily lab operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading a team of skilled technicians. Key Responsibilities: Manage Laboratory Operations: Oversee daily operations of the testing and inspection lab, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of lab technicians, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance. Testing and Analysis: Conduct and oversee various tests on coal samples, including proximate and ultimate analysis, calorific value determination, and moisture content analysis. Compliance: Ensure all testing procedures comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on test results, findings, and any discrepancies, and communicate these to relevant stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance lab efficiency and accuracy. Safety: Promote a culture of safety within the lab, ensuring all team members adhere to safety guidelines and protocols. Education: Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in the coal industry is highly desirable. Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Certifications: Relevant certifications in laboratory management or quality assurance are a plus.
