Job Description:

The Psychology Program is seeking a part-time lab manager for a new lab focused on the psychology of gender (PI: Natalie M. Wittlin). This part-time lab manager will play a crucial role in establishing the lab, which will conduct research on topics such as: beliefs about transgender people; body image in transgender youth; psychological consequences of gender validation and invalidation; understandings of femininity and masculinity; and how different dimensions of social group membership (e.g., race, age) intersect with gender to inform these phenomena.

Duties for this position may include:

* Developing IRB protocols and supporting documents

* Creating and organizing documents with lab protocols and procedures

* Creating lab recruitment materials (e.g., flyers, pamphlets, videos, social media posts)

* Recruiting participants online and in person

* Developing online surveys on Qualtrics

* Developing experimental stimuli

* Managing online data collection (via MTurk, CloudResearch, Prolific, Qualtrics Panels)

* Coordinating participant payment

* Coordinating/managing a lab calendar

* Scheduling appointments with participants

* Reminding participants of upcoming appointments

* Running in-person studies

* Sending out thank you emails to participants

* Troubleshooting issues related to recruitment, technology, experimental procedures, participant communication, etc.

* Purchasing lab supplies

* Other duties as assigned

* Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field

* Experience and comfort working with LGBTQ populations

* Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed (to recruit at community events)

* Either active driver's license and access to a car or other means of traveling within the Hudson Valley region

* Evidence of strong organizational skills

* Evidence of strong communication skills

* Internal motivation

* Desire to learn

Compensation: $17-$19 per hour

This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
