  • Lab Management: Oversee daily operations of onsite laboratory, ensuring all tests are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  • Testing Procedures: Develop and update testing procedures and protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy in test results. This includes collaborating with engineers and technicians to establish best practices, timely testing.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to monitor the accuracy and reliability of test results. This may involve conducting regular audits, calibration checks, and proficiency testing.
  • Material Selection and Evaluation: Oversee the selection and evaluation of materials used in transportation projects, such as asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soil. This includes performing tests to assess the quality and performance of materials under various conditions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze test data and prepare reports detailing the findings, including any deviations from specifications or quality standards as well as provide recommendations for improvement based on the results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: You ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and serviced to ensure accurate test results and safe operation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain DOT regulations, standards, and procedures, ensuring that the laboratory operates in compliance with all applicable requirements per AASHTO, ASTM standards.
  • May provide training and supervising laboratory staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with agencies, contractors, and stakeholders involved in transportation projects to address materials-related issues and ensure project success.
Certifications required: : ATTI Soils & Agg, ATTI Asphalt, ATTI Field, ACI Field
  • Ability to travel within Arizona on highway projects.
